In 2020, around March we experienced a lock down due to Coronavirus. The school took adequate measure to keep the teaching and learning process going. We taught online. Together with teachers we achieved the completion of the academic year 2019 - 2020 successfully.

On June 29th, 2019 Wellspring Academy celebrated its 4th graduation ceremony. We were proud and pleased to see our students walk across the stage after completing over 12 years of education. We pray that this graduating class finds the paths God has laid for them.

2018

Early in 2018, Wellspring Academy was officially recognised as a Cambridge International School.  On June 1, 2018 Wellspring Academy announced its new principal, Stephen Rudakemwa. With a student body of nearly 675 students and over 70 staff members, Wellspring has become known as one of the best schools in Kigali.

At the end of the 2016-2017 academic year, staff, students and parents celebrated 10 years of God’s faithfulness for Wellspring Academy.  The school was blessed with singing, dancing, speeches from the founders, and powerful messages from Christian Life Assembly's founding pastor, Elmer Komant. Click here to watch the video!

2015

In June 2015, Wellspring Academy celebrated its first Grade 12 graduation.  Many students from 2007 stayed at Wellspring during their entire school career. This is a testament to God’s faithfulness to students, staff and the community. The pioneer graduating class has been very successful in their endeavours in Rwanda and the world.

2014

In 2014, led by Principal Martine Kagabo, Wellspring Academy transitioned from the Rwandan National Curriculum to the Cambridge International Curriculum.  Exposure to an international curriculum allowed students to be introduced to different ways of thinking, more student engagement, and learning outcomes that are on international standards.

In 2011, the secondary section opened with many more classroom blocks, a library, and other buildings built along with two full streams of students for each class from Foundation to Grade 7.  Stephen Rudakemwa was appointed as the new Wellspring Academy secondary deputy principal.
2010

2010

In 2010, Wellspring Academy administered the Primary 6 National Exam. Students passed the national exams with flying colours and every student was placed in Rwanda’s Division 1 rankings.
2007

2007

In January 2007, Wellspring Academy opened its doors. The first classes were from Foundation to Grade 3 with 107 students and 7 teachers. With Rosette Muligande as the first principal of the school, she led the school very successfully with the Rwandan national curriculum.
2004

2004

In 2004, in the post-genocide nation of Rwanda, there was a desperate need for a Christian school with Biblically integrated values for Rwanda and its children.  Listening to the local stories of this necessity, Richard Taylor and Jeffrey Komant, founded the Wellspring Academy. The vision was from Christian Life Assembly church to equip godly servant leaders to bless Rwanda and display the best of Rwanda to the world.  The construction efforts began soon after on the first two blocks of classrooms.
